Tor + Safari
- Download the stable Mac (Intel Only) bundle on this page.
- Install the software.
- Run "vidalia". Wait for the bar thing to stop.
- Open safari. Press the ⌘ and comma keys at the same time.
- A window looking like this should have popped up.
- Go to the "advanced" tab.
- Click the "change settings" button beside "proxies".
- This bit's a little complicated. You need to check all of the boxes that are checked in this screenshot and enter 127.0.0.1 and 8118 into the same boxes on each one.
- You should now have
- FTP Proxy
- HTTP Proxy
- HTTPS Proxy
- Gopher Proxy
checked and with those numbers put into the box.
- Click okay, and then apply.
- Finally, go here. The onion thing at the top should be green and the text will say "congratulations, you're using tor" if it works.
You now have to open that vidalia program any time you want to go onto the internet which is kind of a bummer, but I guess you're truly anonymous now.
